I understand they will move to where they want to be?

Can I bury the lower section in the sand?

Well he didn't last long!

He was fine. Doing his hide in the tube when the light changed, coming back out and flowing his crown all around. Then a couple of days ago he starts leaving his tube!

Can't find him anywhere. I can't believe I can't see any part of him anywhere in the tank.

Is he a goner?

If he left his tube, that is a very bad sign. They only do that when they are on their way out. If he died, it is likely your cuc got him. I'm sorry he didn't last for you, what a pretty one he was. :(
