Hello: Beginner to SW

I have had FW tanks basically all my life. Someone recently gave me a SW tank with damels, hermit crabs, snails, shrimp and "live sand and rock". I could really use any advice on maintaining, cleaning or anything else and I should know about this before getting into it. As I already have the tank set up I have researched some things. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
