i bought a yellow tang yesterday and ive noticed that its been breathin heavily. parameters NH3=0, NO2=0, PH=8.2, salinity=1.023 temp.=80 i dont know what seems to be the problem here :( i already open my lid coz maybe its an O2 issue and BTW i have 4 powerhead and 1 koralia.

i fed him this morning and he did eat and ive noticed that his color fades too..

are your lights off? Id turn em off if they are on. Give the guy a little time to get used to his new surroundings.

Fish will change colors (especially tangs) depending on if they're stressed or scared, or if it's night or day. If he is eating and swimming, just keep an eye on him. He needs some time to adjust to his new home. Keep a close eye out for any signs of parasites (white or black spots).

Sounds like he's a little stress from the move. I usally introduce my new fish with the lights off. This way the other fish are already less mellow and don't seem to bother or notice the new addition. Just give him a day or two to settle in. If he's eating that's a good sign. Also when his color starts to come back. Keep a eye on him for white spots cause tangs are very prone to ick.
