finally i got to upload the photos. the stuff on the outside is surounding a round rock. can this be used as live rock or biological filtration?

i found them on the beach shore in peru. there are tons of these including clams and little miniature crabs.

it is a barnacle go ahead and add it to the tank.

Not sure why, but my dad added some very large barnacles to his tank for show/hiding spots. They kinda dissolved in there. They started breaking all apart and at least half of them were reduced to rubble in the tank.
