I have thought about real seawater but near a pier or shore I cant imagine what kind of bad stuff might be in it. At least in the ocean a fish can swim away from a pocket of nasty water but if you put it in your tank they are trapped.
How long have you been doing that is it working out for you have you had any issues with it? Just curious
