hide and go seek cucumber

Hey guys, I picked up a sand shifting cucumber two days ago(darn there all black in color) for my substrate. I read they clean sand pretty good, but mine seems to hide under a rock all the time, poking only his head out...is this normal, should I give him a few days...it hasn't even started on the sand yet.

He needs to stop playing and get to work before I fire his $$$.

Have you checked to make sure his sorry butts still alive?
I dont know how quick those things are, cause I've never kept one.I do know they can sure make a mess when they die though.I'd keep a CLOSE eye on it.

I see him poking his head out from under his rock during the day, but can't seem to find him at night, but he is there again the next morning(under his same rock...I can see him moving his head very slowly back and forth, but that's about it

I've got one, took it like a week to start doing his thing. But the little bastards on a mission now, walk away from the tank for 5 minutes day or night and he'll be somewhere else munching sand.
