How to get mini carpet out of acclimation container

So I got this mini-maxi a week or 2 ago now, but the crazy thing will not come out of the large measuring cup I acclimated it in. Tried turning it upside down for days, nothing. No flow, high flow, low light, everything I can think of to get it to let go and move out with no success. This big measuring cup in my small 28g is quite ugly, and I can't wait to get it out, any ideas on how to do this safely are greatly appreciated. Or just keep waiting?

Lol. I know you're probably not laughing but I couldn't help myself:D
Keep in mind you need to be patient and gentle.
Here are some things I have done:
Massage the foot with your finger or use an ice cube and rub on the foot or take the cup out of the tank and heat it up on the bottom where the foot is attached with a blow dryer.

take the cup out of the water and suspend it upside down over the tank just high enough that the nem is out of the water. he will stretch down to get back in and let go. just let the tips of the tenticles touch the water. worked for me. might take an hour or two though. got this tip from a site i read but i cant remember where.
