COMMON NAME - Japanese Pygmy Angelfish, Japanese Angelfish

SIZE - 7.5" (19 cm)

RANGE - Southern Japan (Toso Bay to Tokyo), south to Izu and Bonin Islands and Taiwan, northeast to the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands (Midway and Kure)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 75 US Gal. (284 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet consisting of live brine shrimp, plant material, and a good growth of microalgae. Most individuals will accept finely chopped seafood, frozen preparations, and flake food. Will consume faecal material of chromis.

REEF COMPATIBILITY - With caution

CAPTIVE CARE - Only one male to a tank. Somewhat aggressive towards fish with similar shape and color or compete for same food.
