lighting?

can there be too much light for a tank?
i have a 75g and from what im hearing i need about 4 watts per gallon so thats about 300 watt lighting but i found a light sytem with 608 watts. would this be too much for my tank?

That would be fine! I have 375watts for my 32G.
The more wattage the better corals you can get!

You would probably be okay, but you would need to acclimate everything to the light very carefully.

Whats the make, and what type of lighting is it??

That's not too much at all, I've got 716w over my 75g. What type of lights are they? Different types of lights actually put out more usable light.

it has 2 250 watt metal halides 2 54 watt actinic blue t5s and 3 blue leds

That'll be fine, I've got 2 250w MH and 4 54w T5s. I just use the T5s as supplimental lighting.
