so i just looked at my lights and i have no idea what this means can some one help explain this is everything on the bulb
eagle's barrier reef blue, actinic fr20t12
can any one tell me what this means how good is this lighting thanks!

actinic lights are 420nm and give that nice blue/purple effect but you need some 10000K-20000K as your main source. I would say the actinics are more of a supplelmental light.

if you're only doing a swim tank you don't have to get crazy with lights, but coral is a different story. there are plenty of people here that can help you. just let everyone know what your goals are and what kind of budget you have and i'm sure you'll get some good feedback.

they are also t12s you need t5s,t12s run 110 watts so your using more power for less intencity,the t5s are 54watts for a 4 foot bulb
