I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this question, but has anyone ever bought live rock of the internet? If so what type and was it worth the cost?.

I've got some off the net.But most came from my LFS.
What I got was OK,But the price actually worked out to be close to the same as my LFS by the time shipping was added in.
It was great for kick starting my cycle though.Ammonia shot off the chart within an hour of being in the tank.

I've bought about 250lbs of live rock online.Nicer and less expensive than locally,even when shipping was added to the total cost.I've bought the lalo,tonga deepwater from Dr.Foster and Smith.Uaniva from Salty Critter.

I bought some base rock and LR. Been awhile though.

unless LR is shipped completely submerged in water it will be mostly dead by the time it gets to you

90% of the live rock shipped is like that.Thats also why I like TBSWs live rock.The box will actually be close to half full of water,with news papers wrapped around the rock,So its good and soaked.
