live rock

i was at the local fish store and he told me i would need at least 40 pounds of live rock in my 29...is there a spefic amt i would want in there? i have roughly 25-27 pounds now?

btw i finally got around to post a couple of pics of my tank in my last post

1 pound per gallon is fine, but if you want you can put upwards of 40 pounds in there, its up to you

Rule of thumb is between 1-2lbs per gallon. I had 61lbs of rock in my 30g tank at one time. I had that much in the tank for about 1yr. I have since thinned it down to about 50lbs.

I have 65 pounds of live rock in my 90 gallon tank plus 60 pounds of live sand...all my parameters stay stable so i guess its really a preference.

Its really not a preferance, when you tank is fully stocked and matured you may run into problems without enough rock. It the key filtration means in the Berlin method.

Always remember that the sales guy at you LFS is exactly that...a sales guy. You did the right thing by asking others before you commit to buy. I had a sales guy swear up and down that a canister filter was the way to go for filtration...he got me lol.
