Live Sand

When I swapped out my sumps about 5 months ago, I took all the sand out of the old sump and didnt put it back into the new sump. I put the sand into a cooler and sealed the lid onto it so no air could get into it. Do you guys think this sand will be okay to use for my frag tank? I know it may not be live and that fine, but I need to know if it will still be good to use, or if there is any type of nasties that could infect my main tank. I opened the container and nothing smelled foul. LMK

Good, thats what I thought but wanted to make sure. Should I use RO water or just regular tap?

I used regular tap water when I washed mine out.But I did give it the final rinse in RO.

exactly what yote said. if you don't rinse it thoroughly, you're going to just have an ammonia spike. rinse it until the water runs clear, and you'll be fine.
