Losing water

I heard my tank running funny one morning and discovered that it looked as if my sump had busted.I found out later that it was not the sump our the pump.I noticed a lot of wet salt creep around my U V light and also my lfs said that if I had lost power then that could have caused the overflow and caused the sump to lose its water.someone please advise! :frustrat:

Locate the leak, and fix it, not much more to advise on. Check the connections in and out of the UV, you may need to put a hose clamp on them.

+1 fast. If the power did cut out and you did lose water, I seriously doubt you'd miss a big old puddle :D

Is it a Reef Ready Tank? Do you have an external overflow. Did the overflow let to much water back into the sump when it stopped its flow? Did the external overflow lose its siphon and not start up again?

Did the sump overflow? Or did the tank overflow?

Locate the leakage and check the all sources,When you will do this then there would be no water in your tank man?Hurry up ...
