What role do the hard bones/skeletons of Torchs/frogspawns/etc. play? Is there anything you need to know when it comes to proper care of said corals, or can you trim/cut them at will?

You cancut the skeleton. There is no live flesh inside

+1 Beej. As long as you don't touch the flesh, the skeleton can be broken off or cut to fit in your rockwork better or whatever you need to trim it for. I used a Dremel to cut my LPS coral skeletons, but a pair of heavy duty scissors also works well.
