hey guys ive noticed that my rock in my 30g is starting to turn white? Is this a problem? Its getting purpple also, but like all the green that was on there has turned white. What should I do?

the purple is probably purple coraline algae. do you have a cleaner crew in your tank.

i think that it is just the rock changing from the green alage which is now turning white and the coraline is noe staring to take over.

I had the same thing happen on a few rocks in the early stages of my tank. I think its maybe coraline dying but new coraline will grow. But im not sure...

Coralline does bleach/die-off during the cycling period.It will come back slowly in time.If it looks like it's encrusting the rock than that's what is happening.

yea its looking like its encrusting the rock so i guess thats what its doing. thanx guys

I also think it's coralline dying off. It'll come back, no biggie.
