more DIY rocks...

Love my tanks!
Ok so I made a few more rocks out of the crushed coral and portland cement with some rock salt in it. I really noticed the effects of the rocksalt on these as I washed them off. Pretty amazing. The last ones that I made have changed color slightly. I will post one of those to compare.

the top rock in the bottom picture is one of the rocks that have been curing for a few days and the bottom rocks are the new ones just pulled

Those look fantastic. I really think that after a couple months in a tank with coralline and algae and life, you would have a hard time telling the difference between "real" live rock and one of your rocks.

can plaster of paris be used in making saltwater aquarium accessories?

some say its bad , others say it desolves after some tym..

Anything that might disolve after time is not worth the risk, imo. I cure my cement based garf rock before even tossing it in the tank because when it first becomes dry, it makes the water ph shoot sky high, essentially making the water bad for the inhabitants due to the extreme change.
