Will diluted muriatic acid have the same effect for cleaning up a tank that vinegar would? Any lasting effects I'm unaware of?

All i know is at the Depot(Home) we sell Muriatic Acid to clean concrete, IMO no way!!!

Yeah that is the stuff I clean my aluminum rims with once a year to take of serious oxidation. Would probably haze the glass. Vinegar works very well to clean tanks up. I cleaned up the mess that was on my tank very well and it was horrible.

The reason I ask is because I clean my pumps/powerheads and filter socks with it, but didn't know if it would clean up the glass ok. Yes it is for concrete 'etching', but also works wonders on calcium build up on stuff. ;)

I dont know that I'd use it on glass.It could discolor it.
