Mushrooms are weird

Depending on the time of day, and it seems fairly consistent the do different things. At some points the shrivel up to nothing, then an hour later they are flattened like a pancake and drifting a little with the flow. Now they are trying to stretch as tall as they can. Is this normal?? They are discosoma.

Yep, it's normal for them to move around. They are animals, and they position themselves as favorably as possible in their environment.
