Mushrooms

I received mushrooms today on live rock and they are all stringy, are they dying or this is ok?

Second, is it coming from their mouths? Mushrooms are pretty hardy.

What is your set up like? How long has it been running?

looks like they have disintegrated from shipping, stringy stuff everywhere... 100 gallons set up about 3 mths, 80lbs of live rock, leather toadstool, blenny, 2 clowns, feather dusters

could they be sliming as a defense from all the handling?

Either way, shrooms are really tough, give them a chance.

Thanks.. Im not sure they have lost most of their forms and the stringy stuff was the color of the mushrooms, now white stuff is coming off of them. Ill give them a chance tho and see if they recover.. Thanks

It sounds like they are unhappy. They should recover in time.

The lady shipped them from WA for 3 days usps. NO WATER, just newspaper.. That probably has something to do with it lol

I hope so.. The rock should have some type of mushroom "seed" in it shouldnt it, so maybe they will come back..

Odds are as long as some of the flesh survives, the mushrooms will come back. Why would someone ship them like that? I even send my algae packed in water.

I have no clue, from WA to KY, the paper wasnt even remotely wet anymore.. It just looked like slime on the newspaper. A couple of them look like they are barely hanging on so hopefully they will come back...
