my poor snails...

I have two asteria snails covered in algae. one has bubble algae all over its shell-- I got more emerald crabs a couple weeks ago, and all evidence of bubbles on the rocks is gone. but apparently they won't get it off the snail... here's a pic of that guy:

the second asteria has slime (I think) algae on it.

what should I do?

Scoop up a cup of the tank water, grab the snails out, and clean them off in the cup. Use a toothbrush to scrub the slime off and just pull the bubble algae off. They're pretty funny looking!

Yaaaa lets all shower at tanks place. Hope there is enough room for all of us:mrgreen:

Ted-- It would be like those old pics of like 50 people shoving themselves into a phone booth....

Biff-- doesn't that make it burst and spread spores (or whatever) all over?

Sounds great. Oh be gentle and you wont pop them. Well thats what I hear i ended up popping some when I tried it. I am not very gentle.

Only if you pop them. Try to pull them off without popping them. They are attached with little tendrils. You can grab the base with a pair of tweezers and rock back and forth until you gently pull it off.
