well what ever you have it sure sounds like a filter feeder.and sadly your tank is way to young to support a filter feeder you may want to return it to the store and get one again in like six months after your tank matures a little.and in the future please research all the wonderful pretty things before you buy them.I know its had to resist the impulse buy.after 25 years i still have to tell my self"no that wont be happy in your tank right now"

could be a coco-worm, tube worm, christmas tree worm, tube anemone... the latter though is typically not c-shaped and has a soft flacid penis-like tube.
