New Abalone

I just recently purchased an abalone to take care of the green hair algae in my reef tank, he hasn't gone after the algae yet and he has been in there for 2 days now, I hardly even see him at times...Does anyone out there have any personal exp./opinions with them?

I bought one, acclimated it, put it in, never saw it again after that night. Sea hare is better for HA, IMHO.

Abalones aren't as effective as Mexican turbos, and the champ of hair algae eaters, sea hares.
