new fish

that sucks! If that's the case...how bad do you really need a urchin? Out here, I just use 'em to attract/feed Garabaldies (spell check?) when I'm out diving, do they have some other benefit in a tank? Is there a safe way to trim the spines back?
 
the body on it is about 2in in diameter and the spines are at least 7in or longer. i am trying to call the owner of the lfs to see if he will take him or i will ask my father in law if he wants it. urchins help to keep alage under control but the long spines are more for eating coraline and film alage than any other alage.

:scratchch very interesting...I figured there was SOME reason to have a big spikey black ball in a tank...still I don't see myself ever getting one :12:
