New reef lighting

Reefing newb
Hello to all,
I'm sure this question has been beat to death in previous posts and I have been searching for hours but I just cant find any info on the proper light wave lengths for reef lighting. Do 5100K bulbs emit the proper wave lengths for a reef tank? Any help appreciated, Thanks,
Jim

I think the ideal wavelengths for coral growth if between 6500k and 10000k. 5100k may not be suitable, but hey, we'll never really know. :)

Thanks to all who replied. I will look for something between 6500 to 10000. As for the fixture I have not built it yet. I will use T5 before MH but honestly I would prefer CF.
