HI, i am new to saltwater aquarium and wanted to know what type of light would i need for a 30 gallon tank (Length: 36 Width: 12 Height: 16). I would like to keep sps in my tank.

Hello and Welcome! I would see if you can find a metal halide pendant for your tank. 150 watts would let you keep anything your heart desired.

Be advised that with a MH light in a system that small the temp swings can be righteous. I have the exact same size you have with a MH light and I fight temp swings of up to 7 degrees in 5 hours....not good for the fishes....

just clip a desk fan to your tank, it will solve that issue

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to check the temp. of my fish tank with the lights. If it does start to rise ill make sure to use a fan. Thanks for all the help.
