nitrate up date

well since my last post my tank was in bad shape....i did a water test today and my ammonia,nitrites are at 0 and my nitrates are at 20ppm.would it be cool to put my animals back in the aquarium?

I'd say go ahead. Try to keep the nitrates under 20 and you should be okay.

if you are worried, go ahead and do a water change before adding the livestock.

My recommendation is to get your nitrates down to 10 or below before you start to add animals back and keep it there for at least 10 days. if not add animals slow and start a regular water change maintenance program until the nitrates lower. as you add the fish your nitrates will want to increase, and if you start at 20, could be a bit difficult to get um down. IMO. good luck keep us posted.
