Dang yote, that's crazy...The shrimp may not be arriving in the new rock, one of them may have had lil ones...and I would do the fw dip instead of qt. You could qt the rock, and the shrimp may not come out till you place the rock in the main tank...Good luck catching it.

but if you freshwater dip the rocks long enough for it to effect the mantis shrimp(s) then itll pretty much kill everything off making it dead base rock

Its safe to say that anymore rock I bring home is going to be dry base rock.
You know Smitty,You might be onto something there.I did find a dead mantis in the rock tub when I switched to the 125.GOD,I hope I dont have a hundred of them suckers:death:
