Octopus skimmer

If I get the BH 100SS model which is a hang on with a surface skimmer for my current tank, will it always have to be used as a hang on or could I plumb it into a sump for a larger tank? Thinking 60-70 gallon tank next year. If I upgrade to a larger tank and let's say I'll use a 15-20 gallon for a sump, can I just hang the skimmer onto the sump tank and not have to worry about plumbing anything?

You can just hang it on the sump. Also remember it's a good idea to get twice the size skimmer as your tank unless your planning on a light bio load. You'll still need to plumb the tank to the sump.

i forgot about that. might lean towards the bh-300 then or the 300F. Trying to figure out the differences between all of the models.

It took me about 2 weeks to decide on mine. There are so many brands and then sizes, too. Look at customer comments on sites, that helps. Most of the time I feel they are honest and helpful. Good luck.
