Orange Fungia placement

With this coral, should it be set directly on the sand or should there be a rock under it? Didn't think to ask at the store. Its in acclimation right now.

They'd prefer to be on the sand bed.

These are always best kept on the sand. I know they can easily be damaged by surrounding rocks.

I had a Funghia for 2 years and a fish killed it by dropping sand and rocks on it. Keep it away from fish if you can --and yes on the sand.
