Hi, I have an orange toadfish that has been refusing to eat for two weeks. Sometimes he comes right up to the food, then grabs a mouthful of water before hiding until I clean up the food. It's PE Mysis. His stomach looks swollen too.

How long have you had him, and did you see him eating at the LFS? Any other critters bullying him maybe?

Stomach swollen does sound bab. If a fish is not feeling well it will usually starve itself. Sounds like he wants to eat. :(

Have you tried offering live foods such as ghost shrimp?

It's been about 6 years, and he's loved the frozen food in the past. How long do they last? I haven't found any info.

About the longest I've heard of anybody keeping one was 3 or 4 years. But you know how that goes with fish tanks, not really anything to go by there.

Does he still cast his lure like he's wanting to eat?
