overflow on my 75

Sometimes my overflow fills up really high then all of a sudden it just drops quick making gurrgling noise but most of the time it works wonders, does anyone know what causes this or does it happen to anyone else or am I just messed up somehow?

Its getting an air bubble in the line.
Mine did that when I first used a HOB overflow box.I ended up trashing the sponge filter that came with it,which helped mine.
Anyway you can post a pic of your overflow.That way maybe somebody can come up with an idea to stop the gurgling.

If it has the little plastic piece of airline sticking out the top of the overflow pipe, stick a straightened out paperclip or piece of wire in there to make sure no salt creep is blocking it.

did a bit of searching online and someone suggested that the return pump may be to much so I turned down the flow via ball valve and has now been running like a dream also much more quiet

lol never mid last post wife just called me out to the living room its still doing it

now the water just keeps rising up and all of a sudden drops down and sounds like a toilet flushing

drilled a few toothpick size holes in the top of the pipe next to the air tube and works great was not letting in enough air
