pepermint shrimp help needed

I bought a pepermint shrimp and I have a longnose hawkfish in the tank I bought it to replace one that had gotten eaten by the longnose hawkfish but I do not know how long before I can put the new one in because I dont know when i will be able to be eather big enough or able to defend itsself?

Peppermint shrimp will never be big enough to defend themselves against a hawkfish. They are part of the natural diet of hawkfish. It's a trade off when you keep a fish like that -- you just can't keep inverts like that with them.

Well, since hawkfish are known to eat shrimp, It will probably eat your new peppermint shrimp. These shrimp also don't get very large.

They don't get larger than an inch and a half or so. Most of the ones I've seen or had have been about an inch long.

Ive heard even big cleaner shrimps are no match for the mighty hawkfish. Even if it takes them a year, they will eat them.
