hi my ph is 7.8, fish seem fine but how do get my ph to 8.2 :shock:

try a couple water changes and what is you alk at alk plays a big role in keeping the ph up

I have the same problem.
Ph stays between 7.7-7.9

My alk is around 6-9 usually.

Try using baked baking soda when you need to dose for alkalinity.
That'll bring the PH up.Also look and see if you can get some fresh outside air to the tank.That'll help.

There is no such thing in Houston.
Outside air is anything but fresh, and mostly we just breath in heavily air conditioned air. :pooh:

Have you tried using Seachems Marine buffer??? It keeps my ph at a constant 8.2

My tank gets a 2 teaspoon dose every night.Thats what it takes to keep my alkalinity stable.That'll bring my alkalinity up from 9 DKH to 10 DKH,which is where I try try to keep it.

Yeah,I remember that Houston air well.Smells like a bad septic system.
