please identify

Reefing newb
can some one tell me what this is, at times it enlarges and at others it shrinks.
my wife that has no clue about corals says its a baby brain. she made a bet with me.
well can some one please help :)

Could be, I wasnt really sure but I figured I would at least get him thinking about it.

But if it was me, id kill them if they were yellow polys. I think they look really creepy, and they might be the one coral I actually hate.....

yes they are yellow polyps, i was talking about the white one just above the polyps.
 
I agree on rock anem, it looks simular to the temperate water one's you see in tide pools here in the northwest.
 
i had something almost identical on a piece of liverock...it was white-ish---kept it around for a while(it was shaded much like the thing you have) i brought it slowly out to the light ...it turned into a mushroom--just my 2 cents
