Power Filter into a Fuge?

I have a 3 gallon tank with a normal power filter on it. I found out that power filters are not good for saltwater. I was wondering how to convert it into a fuge?

Take out the filter media and replace it with some cheato, and add a small fuge light. Look online for your model and see what others have done....
