Problem with frogspawn - brown jelly?

    What about dipping fish. This guy told me he dips them for stuff like ich.

    just a simple dip isnt going to get rid of anything the fish is carrying because most parasites actually burrow under the scales. You need to keep the fish in the medicated water until the parasites that are under the scales pass through that life stage and are forced out into the water column to be killed by the medication.

    No he said before he puts new fish in the tank.

    I am going to be getting clowns in 2 weeks and I was going to use my 10gal for quarantine but man 2 months is a long time. I mean I need to have 2 tanks going for quarantine just to be able to have fish ready.

    Plus I am a little nervous about them making it in the tank I have to keep for them.

    If you havent QT any of your other fish there is no point QT the new fish, they have already brought ich into your tank.

    And im confused by your comment, he does it just before he put them into the tank, like a coral dip or a real QT. If he is literally just dipping his fish, he isnt doing anything useful. Not even a freshwater dip can get to those dug in parasites.
