Problems with new tank cycling?

We have a couple of the Rena canister filters at the LFS that we use to run carbon at times. They do great for that. But we only run them a couple a days at most. But they are great for carbon.

Good advice from all. I'll probably run the carbon in the Eheim only occasionally.

Now, I wonder if that Firefish Goby is still alive . . .

Some good news and some bad news: I pulled out the frags with the Frogspawn Coral and Candy Cane coral and put them back in my brother's tank. The appear to be deader than a doornail, but I'll keep them in there for at least a month to see if they come back. That's the bad news.

The good news is that my Nitrates are now at zero, and the Firefish Goby just appeared today when I got home from work - and was darn hungry. Little bugger ate like a pig.

I'm reminding myself of what so many threads here have stated - patience is your best ally.

See if can post a pic of those corals. They might just be pissed off.

I'll see what I can do about the pics.

Two things may have "pissed them off": 1) too cold, tank was 69-70 degrees (now 77-78 with heater) and 2) Nitrates were 15-20 PPM, now zero.
