hey im putting together a 125 gallon 6ft long tank for my sister and i want to add a sump to her system. What size would you recommend for this size tank? thanks.

You want to put the largest sump you can fit in the stand. A 55 or 75 gallon tank would probably fit nicely under there -- depending on how much height you have to work with.

Half the tank volume is a good rule of thumb. Biff hit it on the head though "as big as you can fit." You can go to small you can never go to big.
