protien skimmer

Dont know anything about those skimmers.
But from the pic,it dont look like it be easly maintained.Theres going to come a time when you'll have to clean build-up out of the air intake.

i guess this leads me to a dumb question.... is there a skimmer that can be placed behind the sump or do all of them require being inside?

I've got mine hanging off the back of my sump. But it can be run sitting in the sump just as well.
To tell the truth,I've actually got 2 of the CSS skimmers hanging on my sump. The CSS65 and 125 both.Hanging on my 30gal sump.

Not a very good pic.But it'll give you the idea.

My sump sits beside the tank, because I couldnt get the 30 under my 75 without breaking the 75 down.

My overflow runs into the sump.Right into the skimmer compartment. The force of the water coming in keeps crud stirred up long enough for the skimmers to pick most of it up.
