Either an octopus, or an aqua remora...which is what I have on my tank.

I really like the reef octopus.. never used the remora but hear they are very good also..

any of the berlin protien skimmers are a great bet you can go wrong . tell your local aquarium store the size of your tank and your plans for your set up and they can give you a recomondation

Personally, i dont put much faith in LFS stores. Most often they sell you stuff, that they already have, which are cheap crappy skimmers. I have never seen a LFS sell a skimmer of quality. Or lights for that matter. Plus you have no idea if the store employee actually has a tank, how long he has had it, how well it runs etc. He might be there just for the pay check. Also, its their job to sell you stuff. If you dies or breaks, and you go back for more, its better for them.

well I guess Im just luck in new jersey the two I deal with are exceptional with setup and equipment recomondations. the one is questionable on there quality of fish and corals so I do not buy from them anymore .

a reef octopus bh1000 i think is the model would work well, also comes in a 2000 series for a few dollars more.
