pump question

okay right now i just have the water running thru a syphion..and i have a 580gph pump i have a shut off valve on my return line...is it okay to use this to slow down my water flow? if i dont slow it down it all drains out..and im thinking i need to find a over flow box that will match my pumps gph?

Correct god sir. I believe you need to find an overflow box that matches your pumps gph. Or find one thats less gph and close the valve to the pump a little.

I thought your tank was drilled? what do you have going on with your drain?

nothing ...at them moment there is just an old water in-take tube (from a H.O.B. filter that i had) the tube was already at the perfect angel to hang on the tank. Ofcorse the water runs down a tube and dumps into the sump..i have my pump matching is flow but i still need an over flow..
