question about adding my sand...

hi all
i filled my tank about 3/4 of the way figuring when my live rock shows up i will be able to at least put it in water

in the meantime i decided to add my live sand
well i just went ahead and dumped it in
the bag said not to rinse it
so now needless to sy i cant even see in my tank

should i run my powerheads at this time, which i temporarily placed just to move water around the heaters?
will the cloudiness eventually just settle?
how long does this usually take?
should i be running this water thru my sump?

If you’re concerned about removing the sediment to clear up the water then run a simple media filter. Keep any protein skimmers or carbon methods of filtration off, this would affect your tanks cycle time. If you give it some time it will clear it self out to a point, Once the tank cycles and its running 100% filtration it will clear up in no time.

Or so I’ve been told.

It's totally normal to have cloudiness after you add sand. It will clear up in a day or two. Until then, I would not run the powerheads.
