Newbie Reef
Hello all,
I haven't posted in forever but I've been keeping up on all of the activity. I recently changed out my light bulb on the Biocube 29 and I had a question. My original light was a 150w Ushio DE 14K bulb that was quite bright and mostly white in color. As the bulb was aging (I think it was about 10 months old) I purchased a new Phoenix 14K bulb and installed it a few days ago. The color is much more blue and seems "darker" overall. The mushroom corals do not seem to like the new bulb but the leather coral seems to have opened a bit more.
Is there any issue with switching bulbs in this manner? I have 5 sets of corals a long-tentacle anemonae (that has grown much larger over the past 6 months) and a few small fish. The tank has been set up and running since July of 2010.
Thanks,
jim
