rainy day lighting

So, my profilux has the option of putting in rainy days - so, that on a specified day or days of the week, you can have the illumination reduced by a user controlled percentage. Obviously, every day on the real life reefs isn't sunny, so this is fairly realistic. Also, the manual alludes that this can help reduce unwanted algae issues (as of right now I have none...)

Not having any nuisance algae issues, do you think there's a point to enabling this feature one day a week, or am I just going to reduce the available energy to the corals? i.e., can they use the "rest"?

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if there's any additional benefit to this besides a day for the algae to not get as much light...

Yes it is very good for giving the corals more time to heal. Does it also have the thunderstorm setting? I saw a video and it was sweet.
