Reefing newb
I noticed this small patch of growths this morning and as far as I can tell from searching google, maybe red grape algae? I've attempted to take a pictures with my phone but it's not the best quality. We recently had a bit of a heat wave in my area and the algae went crazy for about a week. Then I ran a cycle of red slime remover and kept my lighting off for about 4 days. End result-my Tank looks crystal clear and my algae is way down aside from these mystery growths.

Thanks for the reply. If I'm not reefing and have no nems or corals, is this undesirable still? It looks cool and if it's not hurting anything I wouldn't mind letting it go.

Well, it spreads really quickly, most consider it a pest and nuisance. With or without fish/coral.
It can really take over a tank in some cases, personally, I dont like the stuff, but each to their own.
