Red slime algae?

It looks like red slime algae is starting to take over a section of my sandbed in my bio cube... Is there a certain way to get rid of this nasty stuff?

Increased flow to the area, manual removal, and water changes with RO water.

Is this a newly set up tank? If so, the "red slime phase" seems to be something that almost everyone ends up going through... :(

I think we all go through it. Its just a ride you have to take. It will grow like mad for a few weeks and one day....POOF! Its gone. Hate the stuff, myself. Hang in there...keep on, keepin on. It will eventually die off as long as you keep up with your house keeping. We all feel your pain.

No it's been running fine for about 5 months now I guess I'll try and scoop some out by hand....

I think its still part of our tank breaking in. I just recently had the same problem and it all went away by its self.

If you are using RODI water for water changes,
not overfeeding and your lighting is on point you should be good.

A lot of tanks get an outbreak of this stuff around the 6 month mark. Mine was an awful mess. There are photos of it in my build thread
