I have a 29g with a 1'' hole drilled in it,and a 1'' threw hull fitting but the inside is 3/4'', 20 gallon sump also....I am clueless about this lol,any advice?
Return pump size?

I would look for a pump that has a head pressure of about 300 to 400 at 4 feet. You are going to lose pressure due to height, restrictions on flow due to elbows and friction from the piping.. so that 400 at 4 feet could be under 300 by the time you get back to the display..
