RO/DI Slow

Hi All,
I have an RO/DI unit that I bought at a LFS about six months ago. The unit used to product about 5 gallons in a 24 hour period but now produces less than a gallon a day. Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to fix the unit?

I would check the pressure of your water system. If I recall correctly, there are booster tanks you can add to the system.

Even 5 gallons in 24 hours is not right. Most are rated for 100 to 150 gallons in 24 hours. Like lights said, if your water pressure is too low, the unit will not work, and yours is not (and never was) working.

If the pressure is to low you can add a pump. Maybe the filters were bad when you got it and have gotten much worst. It the filters are clogged you may not get much out of it. Do you have a TDS meter to test the water coming out of the unit?

Try removing & rinsing the filters. Is there sediment or a thin slime film covering them?

Thanks All, it ended up that all my filters were clogged. An expensive fix but now I can make many gallons in a day.

I was going to suggest that when the weather turn cooler that they run slower. But I see you found the problem.
