Rock cleaning?

I had a tank full of APTASIA , it totally took over the entire 55gal. tank! I tried the traditional treatments with the eye dropper, hitting each one dead center. What a maticulous and boaring job, only to have them return to full bloom within a month. next I tried removing the rock and cleaning each piece. This method has worked so-far but now I have a tank full of some kind of golden brown algie that is starting to cover all the rock. The tank has been up and running for about seven years, and the rock is Fegian. I do 50% water changes every 10 days.
What am I growing now? Please HELP..........:death:

Do you use tap water in your tank? Or RODI water? The golden brown algae sounds like diatoms.

A pic of the algae would help. In addition to the tap/RO question, what are your water params?

I agree, the golden brown algae is more than likely diatoms.

When you get diatoms does your water start getting cloudy. Cause i got diatoms now and my water seems cloudier.

if they are getting blown around by the power head then they could. But it could just be them on the glass making it look cloudier
